Puff Pastry Apple Tart

Ingredients:
3 red or green apples
¼ cup sugar
¼ cup butter (50 gr)
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon allspice
1 package of frozen puff pastry sheets
1 beaten egg + 1 tablespoon of water for the egg wash

Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 400F (200C). Cut the apples into thick strips.

Melt the butter with the sugar in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the sliced apples, maple syrup, cinnamon, pumpkin spice and allspice and stir frequently until caramelized.

Roll the thawed puff pastry sheet onto a floured surface and cut into squares.
Using a brush or your finger, lightly wet the edges of the squares with the egg-water mixture.

Place a tablespoon of apple filling in the center of each square and fold each end until you reach the filling. Place uncooked slices of apple on top of the filling to decorate, as seen in the picture.

Transfer each apple tart to a parchment-lined baking sheet or silicon mat, keeping them 1” apart. Brush the tops with egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden.

Let it cool for at least 10 minutes as the filling will be hot. Serve them with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream y disfruten!
